Laundry Day

I put off doing laundry as long as I could. Well today was that day that I was about to run out of clean underwear so I guess it was about time to learn how to do laundry in Denmark. I luckily have washers and dryers in the basement of the building I live in. I used my giant IKEA bag that my school books came in as a makeshift laundry bag. I bought detergent from the grocery store yesterday that I think is laundry detergent. The washing machines had sooo many settings that were no where close to English (click on the pic to see the setting up close) It take 2 hours minimum to wash the clothes in the washer and then once you put them into the dryer that come out another two hours later not dry at all. I decided to take advantage of our "ventilated" basement (I think it just means that there is a heater/dehumidifier to dry clothes faster) and hang my clothes on the clotheslines. It definitely worked because my sheets and towels were dry in two hours!

  1. haha. that's what's great about traveling. though sometimes it's only funny in hindsight. the simplest things can be an adventure. like trying to figure out washing machine settings. well I'm glad you have clean underwear. very important. I did laundry today also. where I live now (since may) I have to go to a coin laundry place so that's been something to get used to. hope you had a good labor day:)
